My Favorite Illustrators Part 1

Sir Arthur Rackham

He was the Olympian of Fairy Tale Illustrators, in my opinion. I especially love the way he drew wrinkles and folds in clothing. I once wrote an end of the year essay on Rackham. I was the only student in my class to do so... (Hey, tip for the wise, if you want your professor to give you an A and do so because they are impressed by you, choose a topic that no one else has ever thought of... It's not trying to be teacher's pet, it's trying to stick out and not be average) I discovered his illustrations my first year of College. The first illustration of his that I saw was of a tree man and a woman in a grey dress. I still love that illustration!

Google Him! You'l

Cookin' Tips 101

so, I'm not just an artist, I'm also a cook... Yeah, I like to Cook a lot, So I'm gonna give you some tips

Some tips

Infusing oil is like the most awesome thing you can do. You can use infused oils for dipping or frying, and even as salad dressing

To infuse olive oil, boil it and add either one of the following things

Garlic
Ginger
Rosemary
Thyme
Peppers
Cloves (really good for when you're stir frying carrots)
Onion
Nutmeg
Mint

You can do a lot :)

Ok, that resumes cooking 101

Oh, yeah, there's an awesome cooking show called the Minimalist on NyTimes.com about infusing oil (just go to NyTimes.com/video and it's listed under style)

Cookies

So, I made the most awesome cookie recipe ever, and, I shall share the gloriousness with you.

WHITE CHOCOLATE APRICOT COOKIES

Mix Together:

2 sticks of melted sweet cream butter
1 cup of white sugar
1 cup of pure brown cane sugar
1/2 cup of melted white chocolate chips
2 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in 2 teaspoons of hot water

Then add:

3 cups of All purpose flour
2 cups of white chocolate chips
1 cup of diced dried apricots

Then:

let the dough cool in the fridge for a couple hours and scoop small balls of the dough onto a cookie sheet and bake in the oven on 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes. Let sit in the oven a little bit. Remember, cookies still bake even after the oven has stopped. If you want them doughey and soft, less time, and if you want them crispy, more time. It's simple. Just keep an eye on them.

Then: OMNOMNOMNOM

HAI THAR!!!

Ok, so, Livejournal is meh for me BUT Blogger is just as awesome!!! :D
